Center for Science and Culture in Incheon (Director Han Ki-soon, professor of creative talent development at Incheon National University), announced that it successfully held the "2024 Incheon Science and Technology and Culture Innovation Forum" at Songdo Convensia on December 6 with Incheon Techno Park (IncheonTP).
Under the theme of "Incheon Science Culture, R&D, and Ask for a Way," the forum was organized to explore the direction of R&D and science culture development in the region, and more than 50 officials from related organizations and companies attended to shine.
The forum was divided into two parts. In the first part, Cho Sang-hyun, head of the Incheon TP Corporate Growth Support Center, presented the "Incheon R&D Innovation Strategy" and suggested the direction of development and innovation strategies for regional R&D. Han Ki-soon, head of the Center for Science and Culture in Incheon, then announced plans to popularize science and culture and create a local science and technology ecosystem under the theme of "A Science and Culture City where Everyone Is Happy, Current Status and Tasks in Incheon."
In the second part of the discussion session, Shin Jeong-ho, a professor at Inha University of Technology, was the chair, and in-depth discussions continued. △ Rep. Shin Sung-young (vice-chairman of the Incheon Metropolitan City Council's Industrial Economy Committee), △ Team Leader Noh Sung-chan (Korea Science and Creativity Foundation), △ Researcher Kim Sung-jin (Korea Institute of Science and Technology Planning and Evaluation), and CEO △ Yi Hyeon-jong (Robo Works) participated in the panel to discuss the role of science and technology and culture in the Incheon area, innovation plans, and mutual cooperation plans.
Han Ki-soon, head of Center for Science and Culture in Incheon, said, "This forum was a valuable place to discuss the convergence and development direction of R&D and science and culture in Incheon. We will continue to develop various science and culture programs that can be shared with Incheon citizens and do our best to strengthen the science and technology ecosystem in the region."
An IncheonTP official said, "This forum is designed to promote innovation in Incheon's science and technology and culture," adding, "We will continue to promote innovative development of R&D and science and culture in the region and strive for mutual cooperation."
Center for Science and Culture in Incheon is an organization that conducts the "Local Science and Culture Capacity Building Project" and has been operated by the Incheon National University Institute for Science and Gifted Education (www.inuisge.kr ) since 2021. The base center carried out cooperation projects with 102 institutions in Incheon Metropolitan City in 2023, and is used by 170,000 Incheon citizens annually.
Center for Science and Culture in Incheon's program is funded by the Science and Technology Promotion Fund and the Lottery Fund, and is supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Science and Creativity Foundation, contributing to the development of science and technology in Korea and the promotion of welfare for the low-income and underprivileged.
