Incheon National University (President Lee In-jae) announced that it achieved excellent results at the 106th National Sports Festival, held throughout Busan from October 17 to 23. INU participated in six events, including football, and earned a total of 12 medals: 2 gold, 3 silver, and 7 bronze.
INU demonstrated its athletic strength once again by earning medals across a wide range of sports rather than concentrating on specific events. With balanced competitiveness, the university succeeded in expanding its athlete base while improving overall performance. This year’s total medal count marks the highest achievement for INU at the National Sports Festival in the past three years.

In archery, Se-yoon Jeong (Department of Exercise & Health Science) won a silver medal in the men’s university 50m event and a bronze medal in the 70m event, showcasing steady and consistent skills.

The tennis team also added a silver medal in the women’s university division, successfully concluding the tournament.

Lee Se-won, Director of the INU Sports Promotion Institute, stated, “It is especially meaningful that our medals this year came from a variety of sports rather than being concentrated in only a few. With a deeper athlete pool and the growth of emerging players, even greater achievements are expected in the future.”
President Lee In-jae remarked, “More important than the number of gold medals is the spirit of challenge and holistic development our athletes demonstrated. INU will continue to actively support our sports teams so they can keep growing and performing strongly on the national stage.”
